Cluck Cluck Sew - Brightly Quilt Pattern 🧵

Hi friends,

I just shared a brand new blog post all about a finished quilt I made early in my quilting journey — and it’s one of the very few paid quilt patterns I’ve ever purchased.

In the post, I’m reviewing the Brightly quilt pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew and talking honestly about:

  • Why this pattern worked so well for a beginner
  • Cutting lots of different fabric sizes (and why that’s actually a good thing)
  • What “scant 1/4 inch seam” means now (not what I thought it meant back then 😅)
  • Why this quilt was perfect for straight line quilting on a home sewing machine

This quilt was made for my granddaughter and is still being used years later — which is always the best compliment a quilt can get.

If you’re newer to quilting or feeling stuck making the same simple projects over and over, this one might be just the nudge you need.

Happy sewing,

If you’ve ever stared at your quilt top wondering what thread color won’t ruin the whole thing, I walk through the simple approach I use when piecing and machine quilting. The second post breaks down Precuts vs. Yardage for Quilting If you’ve ever stood in the fabric store deciding between a jelly roll, layer cake,...

Hi Friend, I’ve got two cozy projects waiting for you this week and they are both so good. First up is the Reverse Blanket Stitch Lap Blanket. This one has big, bold chunks of color with a simple granny stripe border. It’s an easy repeat (multiples of 4!) and works up beautifully in just two large skeins. If you’re more in a quilting mood, my new Ohio Stars Quilt Pattern is a classic block with an modern update. This quilt uses an blocks turned on point and then made into squares with strip...
