Just give me some time to read up on all their paperwork. I'm waiting for my unique discount code so I can pass it onto you. Stay tuned. So excited about this new partnership. My Dog Rose

Last week we had to put our sweet dog down, her name was Rose and she was 15 years old and lived a full rich life. She was my constant companion on the weekends when I was home alone. She made me feel safe and not so lonely. Always close by and that's something that's going to take me a while to get over.

3 years ago I made a quilt and named it after her. It was her quilt and we used in to protect the leather seats from her nails in my new car. Rose's Quilt is a classic bow tie block quilt with a cute scrappy border made with my colorful scrap fabrics. Great project for a beginner and the perfect square throw quilt.

New Sewing Pattern

Tote bags are in fashion, all shapes and sizes trending. So why not do a patchwork tote with fabric scraps. Everything I've been sewing lately has been patchwork and mixing different fabrics that I already have.

The hardest part about bags is always figuring out the final size you want and making sure you take into account the size of your corners. You will lose that measurement from the height of your bag. After much trial and error, I cracked the code and made the perfect size large tote.

Check out the post for all the info and step by step instructions. I did all the math for you. Just pick your fabrics and gather your supplies. You can find links on the resource page to all the supplies used in my projects. Such a fun weekend project.

If you like this bag but don't sew, you can buy this green tote or a blue tote bag from my shop. Great for the summer or gift for your bestie.

It uses the boxed corner method that I talk about in the how to sew a tote bag with a flat bottom post from a few weeks ago. Check that out too if you haven't already.

Free Printable Quilt Care Guide

Plus there's a free printable on quilt care instructions. This includes how to wash a quilt and it's great to print and include when you gift quilts or quilted item. It could be modified for handmade crochet items too.

Finally, my new post is all about shopping in your local fabric store. I share 7 smart tips so you can shop with purpose, avoid impulse buys and make sure you love what you bring home (avoid buyer's remorse).

Books

I finished another Julia Kelly book called "The Last Dance of the Debutante". It was such a great read leading up to new season of "The Gilded Age". Set in England with a backstage look at high society life in the 50's. There's a twist at the end, you won't be disappointed. You can get it on Amazon.
