NEW Quilt Pattern (Free PDF Download)

California Wildfires. You have all heard, seen or possibly experienced the devasting wildfires in Southern California. If you are a quilter, you can help fire victims by making and donating a quilt. M&L Fabrics in Anaheim, California is my local fabric store and they are coordinating this quilt drive. If you want to help out please read below. It doesn't have to be a new quilt, it can be gently used. You can help someone who lost everything with your handmade gift. The name of this quilt drive is "Wrap LA in Love". Bring warmth, comfort and love to those in need with the power of a handmade quilt.

Here's how to participate:

  1. Donate Lap-Size or Larger Quilts: They are accepting new or gently used quilts that are lap-size or larger. These will provide the warmth and comfort families need.
  2. Ship Your Quilts to: Debbie Harris c/o San Diego Sewn Quilt Drive, 17601 Santa Rosalia Street, Fountain Valley, CA 92708
  3. Deadline: Please ensure your quilts arrive by February 1st.
  4. If you can't donate a quilt, you can still help by sharing this effort with others. Whether it's your quilt guild, sewing friends, or social media followers, every bit of support makes a difference. Together, we can provide hope and warmth to families who have lost so much.
  5. Thank you: Your kindness and generosity mean the world to the families who will receive your beautiful quilts. Let's come together and show that, even in the face of disaster, love and compassion prevail.
  6. For updates on this effort, or to ask questions, feel free to contact Amanda at San Diego Sewn. Her email is amanda@sandiegosewn.com or Instagram @sandiego.sewn. Thank you for being part of this meaningful initiative. Let's wrap LA in love, one quilt at a time.

Here’s what’s been happening on the blog since our last chat, one post with a free quilt pattern. Just one post because I'm working behind the scenes to launch my updated site with a beautiful new look and feel. I started this blog to have a place to share my quilts and crochet projects, and to teach others along the way.

Having a blog is very technical and I'm learning new software and re-organizing the site to be more beautiful, have better navigation, and a place you want to stay and look around. Creating new patterns is more fun than learning new tech skills. Can't wait for my new site to go live. Stay tuned and in the meantime, go grab the free printable quilt pattern shown below using denim recycled jeans.

For my crocheters out there. Make sure you grab one or both of my free cardigan pdf patterns. The Ugly Christmas Sweater can be made with any colors and used all year long depending on where you live. The Granny Hexagon Cardigan is the other free pattern with pdf pattern you can download. I've made two of these now and it's perfect for intermediate beginners and brave beginners.
